The desmodromic actuating device has an actuating element (14) in active connection with a valve shaft (12) of the gas change valve through transfer means which act as a ball joint. The transfer means can be ring parts (24) positively connected to a circumferential groove (22) in the valve shaft (12) and protruding over half the diameter of same whilst a screw-on ring (16) rests on the inside of the actuating element on the edge of the opening and surrounds the valve shaft. The facing surfaces of the ring parts and screw on ring form interacting spherical bearing faces. Independent claim describes method for connecting actuating element to valve by providing ball joint type transfer means for active connection between same.
