摘要 Aspects of the present invention describe methodology by which arrays of synthetic molecules can be created and employed for various types of proteomics profiling experiments. The most important of these from a clinical standpoint are the visualization of antibody and T cell binding patterns, which could be employed as a tool for monitoring the state of the immune system of a patient. This may be a generally useful tool for the diagnosis of many types of disease states. Similar techniques are employed to detect the post-translational modification of specific proteins, a tool for the visualization of induction of signal transduction pathways in cells and tissues treated with drugs. Finally, aspects of the invention teach a method for the creation of simpler arrays with .less than 100 features that are, nonetheless, effective for protein profiling experiments.
