The medical technology accessories (Z1-Z3) have radio frequency identification devices (I1-I3) (RFIDs) each storing an identity (i11, i12, i21, i22, i31, i32) relating to an accessory. An RF reader (2) is provided to read the identities. A controller (3) operates the base system (1, 11) as a function of the identities read out. Memory (4) stores the identities and their associations with control parameters. The controller is connected to the memory unit and controls the base system as a function of the control parameters.
