CONTENT PROVIDING METHOD USING IMAGE PATTERN RECOGNITION AND SERVICE SYSTEM USING THAT METHOD

A content offering method using image pattern recognition and a service system using the same are provided to enable a user to easily/quickly search desired information by searching contents through image pattern search and offering a WAP(Wireless Application Protocol) page comprising connection information for the searched contents. A data transceiver(21) manages an interface with a camera phone. An image pattern extractor(22) extracts pattern information of an image received from the camera phone. An image pattern analyzer(24) checks an image ID of the similar image pattern information by comparing an extracted image pattern with image patterns stored in a database. An upper menu generator(25) checks a main menu WAP page corresponding to the checked image ID from the database, generates/stores an upper menu WAP page for the main menu WAP page, and provides URL(Uniform Resource Locator) information of the upper menu WAP page to the camera phone. An image pattern database(30) stores the pattern information for the image provided from content servers by matching with the image ID.
