Measurement of aerodynamic forces on land vehicles, aircraft and ships, scans photosensor array with corresponding, underlying pressure sensor array

Each pressure sensor used, carries an attached photosensor. These combinations are attached directly or using adhesive film, to the test object. Connections are made to a computer, in which a data field is defined for the sensor array. A light beam scans the object three-dimensionally. Incident on the photosensors, the beam addresses and activates memory cells corresponding with the pressure sensors. From three-dimensional coordinates of adjacent sensors, software calculates the spatial orientation of the sensors, associating the values with the data fields. During a test journey or flight, measured values are read out from the pressure sensors under real or simulated conditions, for computer evaluation.
