The method involves heating a washing tank (2) up to a threshold temperature (T1), and stopping circulation of rinsing water in a washing zone (10) of the tank, where an initial temperature of drying of the zone (10) is a threshold temperature. The circulation and heating of the rinsing water in another washing zone (11) of the washing tank is maintained for reaching initial temperature (T2) of drying of the washing zone (11). An independent claim is also included for a dish washing machine.
