摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a perhalogenated cyclopentene by a method capable of reducing load to an apparatus and suitable for industrial production in fewer steps by reacting perchlorocyclopentadiene with chlorine and hydrogen fluoride in the presence of a specific catalyst in a gaseous phase. SOLUTION: (A) Perchlorocyclopentadiene is reacted with (B) chlorine and (C) hydrogen fluoride in a gaseous phase in the presence of (D) a fluorinating catalyst which is an activated carbon on which a metal compound is supported or not supported to provide the objective compound of the formula C5ClAF8-A (A is 0-7). A catalyst in which a metal selected from 4 group to 7 group, 9 group to 11 group, 14 group and 15 group is supported on the activated carbon, or the like, is preferably used as the component D. The metal includes molybdenum, niobium, tantalum or antimony. An activated carbon having >=400 m2/g surface area and >=0.1 cm3/g pore volume is preferable as the activated carbon.
