765,760. Endless conveyers. MOLLER, R. March 2, 1955, No. 6120/55. Class 78 (1). [Also in Group XIII] Goods undergoing long-term treatment are carried on a plurality of carrier plates 21 secured to and extending laterally from an endless chain guided in a spiral path by a plurality of sprocket-wheels 2, 3 arranged on vertical axes, -the chain being supported between the sprocket wheels by one rail 13 of a pair while the other rail 14 supports the free ends of the carrier plates, a slide 10 preferably being secured to the free end of each carrier plate. Each carrier plate 21 is pivoted on a pin 11 carried by a plate 18 on the chain, another pin (not shown) being adapted to engage the carrier plate on straight portions but allowing swinging movement when passing around the sprockets. Sprockets 2 are driven by gearing 4-6 from a common drive. As used in a refrigerator, chain 1 is disposed outside the insulated walls 19, 20 of the freezing chamber, the connections of the carrier plates to the chain passing through a slot in wall 20 which is covered by insulated wall sections 22 provided on each carrier plate. |
