A mobile communication system having an automatic packet download function and a control method therefor are provided to confirm whether a terminal is located in a UMA(Unlicensed Mobile Access) service network area, to automatically connect to a predetermined Internet address when the terminal is located in the corresponding area, and allow the terminal to receive data. A wireless module unit(4) transmits and receives a UMA service signal with a UMA base station system unit, and processes the UMA service signal. A memory unit(5) stores an Internet address and corresponding download information preset in a book mark function by a terminal user. A main control unit(6) confirms whether a mobile communication terminal(1) is located in a UMA service area, reads the Internet address stored in the memory unit(5), connects to a corresponding site, receives a UMA packet signal, and stores information designated by the terminal user.
