A search method of a moving picture is provided to reflect the control of weight or a new inquiry factor such as the context on a system. A boundary of a shot is first detected in the new moving picture. After detecting the shot boundary, the shot change search algorithm is used and an object of the shot is detected. The low-grade information is extracted and then converted into an MPEG(Moving Picture Experts Group)-7 document through an MPEG-7 instant producer. The low-grade information is extracted at the before and after shots as well as the present shot in the 'context' process and weighted. The weighted information is used for inquiring to a technician.
