A method for actively restricting watching broadcasting programs according to age in a PVR(Personal Video Recorder) system is provided to indicate a rating block region in broadcasting information of a broadcasting program according to rating and time-shift the rating block region to restrict watching images having the rating block region. A rating block function for a received broadcasting channel is set at the request of a user(S202). When the current channel is request to be changed to the channel for which the rating block function is set, the highest age corresponding to a region of the broadcasting program received through the channel at which a rating block region is indicated is greater than a restricted age(S206). When the highest age is greater than the restricted age, the broadcasting program corresponding to the region is not reproduced(S212). When the broadcasting program having the rating block region is finished, the broadcasting program is time-shifted by a time required to reproduce the rating block region and the broadcasting program is reproduced(S216).
