A plasma display panel and a method of manufacturing the same are provided to shorten a production time of the panel by forming an auxiliary barrier rib portion. Paste for forming a barrier rib is applied on a substrate to a main barrier rib layer. Paste for forming an auxiliary barrier rib is applied on the main partition layer to form an auxiliary barrier rib layer. A photosensitive material is applied on the main barrier rib layer and the auxiliary barrier rib layer to form a p barrier rib protective layer. After a mask is disposed on the barrier rib protective layer, the barrier rib protective layer is irradiated with light to pattern the barrier rib protective layer. The main barrier rib layer and the auxiliary barrier rib layer are removed to form a barrier rib (13b). The barrier rib protective layer is peeled off from the barrier rib.
