A washing machine is provided to automatically and slidingly open and close the cloth inlet hole of the drum and improve the convenience of a user by the formation of the door driving unit for sliding-operating the sliding drum door. A washing machine is composed of: a tub mounted at the cabinet; a drum(50) rotatably installed in the tub and formed with a cloth inlet hole at one side; a drum driving unit mounted to rotate the drum; a sliding drum door(56) installed to sliding-open the cloth inlet hole; and a door driving unit installed to sliding-operate the sliding drum door. The drum contains a center drum(60) whose left and right sides are opened, and formed with the cloth inlet hole at one side of the peripheral part, a first side drum(70) combined at one side of the left and right sides of the center drum, and a second side drum(80) combined at the other side of the left and right sides of the center drum.
