The invention relates to a transport system (T) for container handling machines (M), in particular for bottle filling machines (F), comprising in-feed and out-feed star wheels (Z, A) arranged on support housings (G), defining a star wheel configuration (K) in which the container transport paths (W) associated with the machine are defined. Each support housing comprises at least one lateral entry interface (6), to which a joint end (13) of a connector strut is detachably attached, the other joint end (11) of which is either detachably connected to a connection interface of a further support housing or to a machine chassis (1), such that the star wheel configuration may be optionally and modularly varied.
