<p>A fiber-reinforced carbon-containing composite material comprises a matrix containing silicon carbide (at least in the outer layer of the matrix) and also containing elemental silicon or a silicon alloy, and a phosphate-containing glass in the pores and/or on the surface of the matrix. An independent claim is also included for a shaped product, especially a brake disk, brake lining, motor vehicle coupling disk, furnace lining, combustion chamber lining or heat shield, comprising a composite material as above.</p> |
