PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot press apparatus which can uniformly press a workpiece without warping hot plates when the workpiece is pressed between the hot plates to be heated or cooled. SOLUTION: In the hot press apparatus 11 for pressing the workpieces P by means of a pressing device 13 among hot plates 19, 22, 24 to be heated or cooled, the hot plates 19, 22, 24 are configured so as to have any one of a structure provided with passages 26 for a heating medium oil arranged along the central planes in the direction of the thickness and cooling water passages 28, 28 arranged in the vicinity of the upper and lower pressing planes, or a structure provided with the passages 28 for the cooling water arranged along the central planes in the direction of the thickness and the passages 26, 26 for the heating medium oil in the vicinity of their upper and lower pressing planes, respectively.
