A memory module having a SIMM(Single In-line Memory Module)/DIMM(Dual In-line Memory Module) structure and a memory system thereof are provided to save a system configuration cost by configuring the memory system with the memory module having the same structure even if memory chips having a different pin structure are mounted. The memory module is equipped with a body made of an insulation material and having the first edge, and multiple taps(520) mounted along the first edge. The taps mounted to the first and second part of the first edge have a different type. The taps mounted to the first part(525A,525B) are SIMM type taps and the taps mounted to the second part(530) are DIMM type taps.
