摘要

A modified release pharmaceutical composition of famciclovir contains at lea st 60% by weight famciclovir with at least 5% by weight of a release retardant. Particularly useful as a release retardant include polymers, especially a mixture of polyvinyl acetate and polyvinylpyrrolidone. A method of making su ch pharmaceutical compositions using a extruder and a granulation method is particularly useful.
