The device has a flat operating panel (5) at least partly consisting of tactile output elements (2) in the form of Braille lines and at least one recessed, stepwise rotatable input element (1.1) that generates at least one input pulse per rotation step. The input element is in the form of a roller and extends over at least 20 per cent of the width of the Braille line. The roller is integrated into operating panel so that with simultaneous operation of the Braille line with one hand the roller can be operated simultaneously by the thumbs of this hand.
