PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus with high transferring efficiency of a toner image to a transferred material and with a small amount of waste toner. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with the image carrier on the surface of which the toner image is formed, an intermediate transfer body 104 receiving the toner image transferred from the image carrier and transferring the toner image to the next transfer and a particulate attaching apparatus 100 attaching particulates to the surface of the intermediate transfer body 104. The particulate attaching apparatus 100 is provided with a rotating brush 106 and a stick-like member 108 which is used for brushing off excessive particulates and is supported so that the end of the bristle of the rotating brush 106 is brought into contact with the stick-like member 108 and the stick-like member 108 is parallel to the rotating brush 106.
