PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating material container for a spray gun which is made attachable to a spray gun with high sealability in one-touch manner and is capable of making the washing work of the coating material container easy and lessening the labor for transferring a coating material from a color adjustment cup to the coating material container, thereby improving the work efficiency. SOLUTION: The container attachment tool 1 comprises a cover body 3 fitted so as to cover the upper end aperture part of a disposable coating material container 2 and internally having a coating material flow channel, a joining member 4 for joining the cover body to a nipple of the spray gun, and a ring-like pinching member 5 for pinching a flange 21 in the circumferential rim of the upper end aperture part of the container in combination with the cover. The cover and the pinching member are joined by interlocking a groove 35 formed in the circumferential face of the cover with a pin 51 projected in the circumferential face of the pinching member. The groove is composed of a vertical groove with an opened lower end part and a circumferential groove continued from the upper end part of the vertical groove and extended circumferentially and the circumferential groove is sloped upward to the terminal end part and when the pin is moved along the upward slope, the flange is compacted between the cover and the pinching member.
