INFLATOR MODULE FOR SIDE AIR BAG AND GUIDE PIPE USED FOR THE SAME

A safely transportable inflator module for a side air bag (10), wherein gas feed holes (14) are formed in the peripheral wall of a guide pipe (12) to guide a jet gas from an inflator (11) into a side air bag through the gas feed holes (14). Gas release holes (15) having the approximately same cross section as that of the gas feed holes (14) are formed in the peripheral wall of the guide pipe (12) at positions where they face the gas feed holes (14). The gas release holes (15) are closed by a closing body (16) molten at a prescribed temperature.
