An industrial vehicle is provided to prevent an erroneous return to a travelling state due to erroneous detections of various detection switches by adding an operation manipulation of a driver to conditions for return to the travelling state. An industrial vehicle includes a transmission(19), a driver detection switch(26), a direction indicating member, a position detecting switch, an electromagnetic control valve, and a control unit. The control unit is electrically connected to the driver detecting switch and the position detecting switch. If the driver detecting switch determines that the driver is not seated, the current flow of the electromagnetic control valve is interrupted. If the driver detecting switch determines that the driver is seated, the current flow of the electromagnetic control valve is allowed. If the driver detecting switch determines that the driver is seated and the position detecting switch determines that the manipulation position of the direction indicating member is at a neutral position and is at a proceeding or retreating position, the current flow of the electromagnetic control valve is allowed.
