<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quick disconnect coupling wherein it can be visualized that a tube is not fully inserted. <P>SOLUTION: A connector body defines a through bore, and a male member extends into the bore. A primary retainer detachably fixes the male member in the connector body. Redundant latch/verifying mechanism are detachably coupled to the connector body and are movable between an unlatched position and a latched position. The redundant latch/verifying mechanism include parted fingers having verifying tabs permitting their movement to the latched position only after full insertion of the male member. The fingers have release tabs to manually spread expansion beams. In another form, the connector body includes a locking pad radially extending inward. The leg parts of the primary retainer is disposed on the inside of the locking pad, and prevents the leg parts from moving to a release position if the male member is pulled in the direction to remove it from the connector body. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
