A system for automated screw assembly of coaxial sections, e.g. for assembly common rail components for diesel engines, has a grip tool (11) and a turning spanner (8) mounted on separate radial servo drives and driven by coaxial drive shafts (1, 3) which apply and release the grip and spanner simultaneously. The coaxial sections are secured by controlled operation of the grip and turn drives.
