METHOD FOR ULTRASONIC DIAGNOSIS OF HERNIA OF INTERVERTEBRAL DISKS IN LUMBAR DIVISION OF BACKBONE

The method for the ultrasonic diagnosis of the hernia of intervertebral disks in the lumbar division of the backbone comprises the transabdominal visualization. When the anterior-posterior size of the vertebral canal decreases while the symmetry of the roots is retained, the central hernia is diagnosed corresponding to right and left internal third of the posterior contour of the disk. Paramedian hernia corresponds to right and left median third of the posterior contour of the disk with the asymmetry of the spinal roots. The lateral deformity of the spine canal is visualized. The size of the hernial outpouching is measured from the distal point of the hernia to the conditional line drawn along the intact contour of the disk.
