A method for providing a channel map of a TV with a V-chip function is provided to allow a user to grasp viewing limit grade information at a glance according to channels when a channel map operation is performed through a log-in procedure and simply set a channel viewing limit grade by acquiring V-chip association viewing limit information when an auto-tuning scan is performed through a tuner and storing the acquired V-chip association viewing limit information in an external memory. Channel indication information is acquired by an auto-scanning scan through a tuner(S10). Viewing limit grade information is acquired through V-chip information(S20). The acquired channel indication information and the acquired viewing limit grade information of each channel are stored in an external memory(S30). A V-chip channel list map is operated through a log-in process(S40). Channel-classified age grades, viewing contents grades, and excepting channels are set up on the channel list map(S50).
