The bevel gear comprises an output shaft (3) mounted in a housing (1) and associated with a bevel wheel (7) which cooperates with a drive pinion (8). A single or multi stage gear (9) mounted upstream of the hypoid stage, or a drive shaft (14) can be inserted in a modular manner upstream of said stage. The output shaft (3) and bevel wheel (7) can be mounted in two parts connectable together in one axis.
