PROCESS FOR ASSESSING THERAPEUTIC EFFECTS OF INHIBITORS OF ANGIOTENSIN-CONVERTING ENZYME IN TREATMENT OF CHRONIC HEART FAILURE

The process for assessing the therapeutic effects of the inhibitors of angiotensin-converting enzyme (IACE) in the treatment of the chronic heart failure consists in the estimation of the immunoinflammatory state prior to the treatment based on the assaying of tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF alpha) in blood serum. Then, TNF alpha is assayed again in three weeks after the treatment. When TNF alpha content decreases by more than 15% relative to the initial value, the dose of IACE is regarded as an effective one. When TNF alpha content decreases by less than 15%, the dose of IACE should be augmented.
