POLYETHYLENE WAX HAVING POLAR FUNCTIONAL GROUP AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF

Provided is polyethylene wax having a polar functional group such as a hydroxyl group, which has high density, high crystallinity, high quality and high functionality, and is obtained by a simple and stable process. The polyethylene wax having a polar functional group is obtained by the method comprising the steps of: forming a polyethylene compound by polymerizing ethylene monomers by using a metallocene catalyst; and introducing a hydroxyl group into the polyethylene compound. The step of introducing hydroxyl group comprises the substeps of: treating the polyethylene compound with oxygen-containing gas; and further treating the polyethylene compound with a hydroxyl group-containing solution.
