A vibration device comprises a motor having a stator and an unbalanced rotor each having one or more magnetic elements. In a commutated motor, rotor windings of electromagnets 80,90,110,120 interact with stator magnet elements on the other of the rotor and the stator to cause rotation of the rotor with respect to the stator, which electromagnets when considered together, have a centre of mass 100,130 which is offset from the axis of rotation of the rotor. Figs 7a-c show alternative unbalanced rotor designs for use with a 3 phase six pole brushless motor. |
