PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for extracting a target image compatible with a camera having six axes flexibility in viewpoint and visual line. SOLUTION: The image extraction method includes steps of: photographing a first image at a first viewpoint and visual line, extracting at least three feature points from the first image, photographing a second image at an arbitrary second viewpoint and visual line, estimating at least three points inside the second image corresponding to the feature points in the first image to extract corresponding three sets of feature points, calculating a deviation amount between the first image and the second image on the basis of coordinates of the extracted three sets of feature points to normalize the coordinates of the second image into the first image, calculating the difference of pixel values of corresponding pixels between the first image and the normalized second image, and extracting a pixel having the calculated difference larger than a prescribed threshold as a target area.
