PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently perform side display in a case of narrow range display. SOLUTION: A horizontal shift register HSR is divided into a plurality of divided horizontal registers DSR. Then, in the case of narrow range display, horizontal start signals STH are supplied to the plurality of divided horizontal registers in parallel by a change-over switch SW in the horizontal fly-back line period, and are transferred in parallel.
