PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-functional lubricating oil additive which is useful as a dispersant in an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: An oil-soluble lubricating oil additive composition is prepared by reacting a copolymer with at least one ether compound and at least one aromatic amine. The copolymer is a polyisobutenylsuccinic anhydride (PIBSA) obtained by a free radical catalytic reaction of maleic anhydride and polyisobutylene, and the ether compound is selected from the group consisting of an ether polyamine, a polyether polyamine, a polyether amino alcohol, a polyether amino thiol, and a polyether polyol.
