PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distal end protection cap for endoscopes, for protecting a distal end of an insertion portion against impact during the transport or the storage by attaching to the distal end of the insertion portion of the endoscope having no grooves formed for engaging the distal end protection cap so that it does not fall down easily. SOLUTION: The distal end protection cap is equipped with an elastic force tightening part 14, which elastically deforms in a direction to expand a diameter by inserting the distal end 1a of the insertion portion of the endoscope and engages, in a manner of elastically tightening the peripheral part of the distal end 1a of the insertion portion of the endoscope, at the distal end part and a retaining nail 16 which is located in the neighborhood of the distal end 1a of the insertion portion of the endoscope that is to elastically engage recessed and protruded parts 1d, 1w on the periphery in the back of the distal end 1a for retaining and is protruded on the inner surface.
