PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television receiver that brings the noise sound of its cooling fan to a state not much felt uneasy by controlling a rotating speed of the cooling fan depending on a degree of the noise sound affected on a program. SOLUTION: The television receiver 1 including: a tuner 3; a selector 4; a demodulation circuit 5; a liquid crystal display unit 7; an audio processing circuit 10; a sound volume control circuit 11; a speaker 12; a microcomputer 13; a backlight adjustment circuit 14; a storage means 15; a temperature detection means 16; a user operation signal input section 18; and the cooling fan 19, to which an antenna 12 is connected, and operated by a remote controller 17, classifies category of a broadcast program into a plurality of contents on the basis of EPG data and stores the contents to the storage means 15, discriminates to which of the contents a category of a broadcast program belongs, and regulates the rotating speed of the cooling fan depending on the contents to which the category of the broadcast program belongs so as to bring the noise of the cooling fan to a state not much felt uneasy.
