<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely detect transfer unevenness of one side part and the other side part in a movement direction in paper S which arises when a test pattern CP is printed. <P>SOLUTION: An upside index pair IU isolated in the movement direction is printed to the paper S by discharging ink while a head 131 is moved in the movement direction. After printing of the upside index pair IU, the paper S is transferred in a transfer direction which intersects the movement direction. After transfer of the paper S, a downside index pair ID isolated in the movement direction is printed to the paper S by discharging ink while the head 131 is moved in the movement direction. The test pattern is thus obtained. The method includes a step of acquiring read data by reading the test pattern CP, and a step of detecting the transfer unevenness of the one side part and the other side part in the movement direction in the paper S when the test pattern CP is printed to the paper S by determining the relationship between positions of the upside index pair IU and the downside index pair ID by using the read data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
