<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress defective fixation caused by such a failure that unfixed scattering toner sticks to a temperature sensor, regarding a fixing apparatus used for a printer etc. <P>SOLUTION: The fixing apparatus 3 includes a heat roller 5, a pressure roller 6 and a temperature sensor 8 for measuring the temperature of the heat roller 5 in a non-contact state. An opening/closing cover 12 is arranged in the temperature sensor 8. The cover 12 is displaced by a displacement mechanism 17 between an open position of opening the temperature sensor 8 and a closed position of covering the temperature sensor 8. When a fixing operation is not performed, the cover 12 is closed so as to prevent the unfixed toner or the like from sticking to the temperature sensor 8. When the fixing operation is performed, the cover 12 is opened, then, the temperature is highly accurately measured by the temperature sensor 8. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
