<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plant producing safe UDP-GlcNAc in high productivity and a method for producing UDP-GlcNAc from a plant producing an inexpensive and safe UDP-GlcNAc in high productivity by utilizing that the plant as a field of a material production is a production system having high safety and not containing infectious material to human and the plant is a low-cost production system, compared with a case using animals and microorganisms. <P>SOLUTION: The present invention provides a transformed plant cell or a transformed plant or its descendent or organs thereof or tissues thereof producing uridine diphosphate-N-acetylglucosamine (UDP-GlcNAc) in high productivity, in which exogenous GFAT (glutamine:fructose-6-phosphoric amide transferase) gene is introduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
