摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direction adjusting method for a vehicle-mounted optical apparatus capable of putting the direction of the optical apparatus identical to the advancing direction of a vehicle. SOLUTION: The vehicle 1 is positioned confronting regularly to be set at the time of adjustment while a virtual axis FA to exhibit the fore-and-aft direction of the vehicle 1 is used as reference, and the angleαwhich the vehicle advancing axis GA forms relative to the virtual axis FA is measured from the toe valuesαR andαL of the rear left and the rear right wheels RL, RR, and also measurement is made for the angleβwhich the view direction axis CA of a vehicle-mounted camera 2 forms relative to the virtual axis FA. The camera adjusting angleγis calculated from the sum of the anglesαandβmeasured, and the direction of the camera 2 is adjusted in an amount corresponding to the camera adjusting angleγ.
