<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device for a vehicle capable of unlocking a steering wheel at the time of starting the drive and assisting the locking of the steering wheel in good performance at the time of ending the drive. <P>SOLUTION: A steering locking mechanism 14 locks the steering wheel 11 through intrusion of a lock bar 14b into a lock groove 14a formed at the peripheral surface of a steering shaft 12. The relative rotating position of the bar 14b with the groove 14a is put identical by actuating an electric motor 15 and rotating a shaft 12 immediately after drawing out an ignition key IGK, so as to ensure intrusion of the bar 14b. Immediately after the key IGK is inserted, the motor 15 is actuated to rotate the shaft 12, and thereby the relative rotating position of the bar 14b with the groove 14a is put identical, so as to assist drawing-off of the bar 14b. The condition of this mechanism 14, locked or unlocked, is judged on the basis of the distance H from a lock groove position sensor 23. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
