PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems of a low nitrogen oxides burner having low nitrogen oxides concentration in exhaust gas that when a flow rate of air-fuel mixture is reduced and the air-fuel mixture is burned in a low load state, the flow velocity of the air-fuel mixture is lowered and flame approaches a holding flame hole on both outer sides of a main flame hole, and a holding flame hole forming part is heated to a high temperature to be the red heat state, and there is the possibility that the flame backfires to the air-fuel mixture on the upstream side, and durability of the holding flame forming part is lowered. SOLUTION: In the gas combustion burner equipped with a main flame hole forming part 23 forming the main flame hole 20 by a plurality of vertical intermediate plates 16, a side plate 24 arranged on the outer side of the main flame hole forming part 23 and forming the holding flame hole 21, and a burner body 15 constituting a throat part and a mixing passage part, a plate thickness of a side plate part near the holding flame hole 21 (upper end side part 24a) of the side plate of the burner body 15 is made thicker than a plate thickness of the lower part.
