PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cross-head bearing capable of improving loading capability by providing a tapered face in an oil channel, enlarging a central oil channel pitch angle, and reducing a bearing clearance ratio. SOLUTION: The tapered face is formed on both sides of the oil channel formed on a bearing face of the cross-head bearing, the tapered face has a length at taper width angle 1 = 3 to 10°, and a taper angleγis an inclination angle of 0.1 to 0.2°to improve replaceability of an oil film due to wedge action of the tapered face and suppress rise of oil temperature so that seizure of a shaft is prevented. Since area of a central pat part of the bearing being effective for squeeze action is increased by forming the oil channel at a position of a central oil channel pitch angleα= 50±10°, loading capability of the cross-head bearing rises to prevent seizure of the shaft.
