PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress generation of spatter when completing a consumable electrode arc welding. SOLUTION: In this method, when a welding completion command is input in a welding power supply, a stop command is output to a feed motor, and the output of the welding power supply is anti-stick controlled so that the wire burn-up height reaches a substantially desired value when the welding wire is stopped, the first short-circuit generation shown in the figure (G) is detected after the welding completion command St shown in the figure (A) is input, the stop command is output to the feed motor shown in the figure (C), a reduction phenomenon of a droplet is detected during the short-circuit period, and the welding current Iw is rapidly reduced and maintained at a low value to generate the arc again. When the arc is generated again in a state that the arc length is substantially constant and low (tb), the anti-stick control is performed to set the wire burn-up height to be a desired value.
