PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To relay and transmit an audio signal without being restricted by its allowable capability in an audio apparatus on a downstream side. SOLUTION: An AV (audio visual) amplifier 4 can transmit the audio signal from a DVD player 2 toward a TV 3 independently of sound reception allowable capability in the TV 3 because DVD audio data DA1 received from the DVD player 2 being an upstream sound output device is converted in a format manner in accordance with the sound reception allowable capability in the TV 3 being a downstream sound output device so that converted audio data TD1 obtained as a result can be transmitted to the TV 3.
