PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lathe capable of easily securing parallelism between an axial center of a main spindle and a Z-axis guide mechanism without requiring high machining accuracy and high rigidity of each part and thereby securing high cylindricity of a workpiece. SOLUTION: This lathe is provided with a spindle head rotatably provided with the main spindle, the Z-axis guide mechanism provided along a Z-axis direction to be the axial center direction of the main spindle in the spindle head, and a Z-axis table movably mounted on the spindle head via the Z-axis direction guide mechanism and provided with a tool rest.
