PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pitching apparatus capable of being used in a limited space by limiting the shooting speed or flying distance of a ball, and allowing a user to easily performing the batting practice for hitting a breaking ball by miniaturizing the pitching apparatus and reducing the weight of the pitching apparatus. SOLUTION: The pitching apparatus comprises a driving mechanism 10 with an elastically deformable leaf spring 14 whose one end is fixed to a rotating body and the other end is a ball hitting end for ejecting the ball by applying the hitting force to the ball 9 at the hitting end with the restitution force of the elastically deformed leaf spring, a ball speed adjusting means 20 for adjusting the hitting force to apply to the ball by adjusting the quantity of elastic deformation of the leaf spring and adjusting the ball ejecting speed, a breaking ball adjusting means 50 for applying the rotation to the ball by bringing a brush into contact with the ball ejected by the driving mechanism. A lightweight ball is ejected in the air by utilizing the restitution force of the elastically deformed leaf spring, and the ejecting speed and flying distance of the ball are limited. Accordingly, the pitching apparatus can be used in a limited space and can be miniaturized, and the weight of the pitching apparatus can be reduced.
