PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographing apparatus capable of simply designating a folder and recording image data to the folder. SOLUTION: Before image data generated in response to a photographing operation are recorded on a memory card, a preview image on the basis of the image data and four icons generated in advance are displayed on a liquid crystal monitor 10_301, and the image data denoting the preview image displayed on the liquid crystal monitor 10_301 are recorded in a folder associated with an icon designated by the operation of cross-keys 10_8 and an OK button 10_7.
