摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit braking force caused by optimum engine braking corresponding to the gradient of a road. SOLUTION: A transmission is constructed such that a plurality of power transmission members 4, 5 are connected to an engine 1 via a plurality of switching clutches C1, C2 so that torque can be transmitted by a gear mechanism between the power transmission members 4, 5 and output shafts. The gear mechanism comprises a plurality of pairs of gears having different gear ratios. In the transmission, it is possible to perform speed-change control by a plurality of speed change clutches which engage either pair of gears for transmitting the torque between either of the power transmission members 4, 5 and an output member and to vary the degree of engagement of power transmission clutches. The transmission includes an acceleration detecting means for detecting an acceleration of a vehicle (step S12), and an engagement degree varying means for varying the degree of engagement of either of the power transmission clutches (step S15).
