PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a charge transmission efficiency by preventing that a potential remainder exhibits charge transmission by certainly performing the charge transmission from a horizontal CCD transfer way to a potential detection unit. SOLUTION: An impurity range 3B is formed by the width in a plan view narrower than the width of a dopant layer 51 in a signal detector, so that the potential voltage becomes deeper than this channel region to the channel region under the output gate OG located in the part for a joint with the dopant layer 51 of an FD 5 (first dopant layer 3). Consequently, it is certain about the charge transmission from the horizontal CCD transfer way to the potential detection unit, the potential remainder can prevent the poor exhibit charge transmission, and can raise the charge transmission efficiency.
